ENJOYABLE PICNIC.
STAFF OF HEARDS, LTD. The sixth annual picnic of ITeards, Limited, was held at Pine Island on Saturday in fine weather. About 000 people attended, and an enjoyable day was spent,. Toys, fruit and sweets were distributed among the children. Tho results of a programme of races nro as follows: Ileards Handicap.—A. Foggerty, 1; W. :>avis, 2; L. King, 3. Brockenshiro, 2 : Miss N. Armour. 3. Married men: A. Foggerty, 1; J. Jones. 2. Married ladies: Mrs. C. Beck man, 1; Mrs 11. Green, 2; Mrs. R. Hawthorne, 3. Gentlemen visitors: Mr. Midwinter, 1; Mr. J. McLeay, 2. Veterans' handicap, 40 years and over: Mr. Mayer. 1; Mr. Hunter, 2. Larlv visitors: MJ's. Kindlev, 1; Miss J. Shaw, 2. Three-legged race: W. Donaldson and Miss ,1. Shaw. Tugo'-war: Visitors beat Heard's, Limited.
