OPENING OF SEASON. FOURSOMES AT TITIRANGL Tho season's programme of the Titirangi Golf Club was commenced on Saturday when mixed bogey foursomes were played. The links were in excellent condition and the weather was ideal. The president, Mr. R. F. Ward, performed the opening ceremony by driving a ball off tho first tee. He wished members overy success during the season. The match resulted in a tie between H. V. Ganley and Miss M. Fouhy and E. Beehan and »rs. R. D. Witeon. who returned cards of ali square. Other good cards were:—Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Naismith, 1 down; W. R. Vercoe and Mrs. G. Court, Mr. and Mrs. H W. Cooke, A. V. Peace and Mrs. J. B. Johnstone, B. Brinsden and Mrs. J. C. Finlay, 2 down. In order to test the players' skill as to direction a special prize was offered to_ any pair who did not get into any of the bunkers. No fewer than four pairs qualified, these being as follows:—Mr. and Mrs. Naismith. Mr. end Mrs. F. G. Alpe. H. Brinsden and Mrs. J. C. Finlay, G. R. Hart and Miss Wright. Members and visitors were the guests or the president and Mrs. Ward at afternoon A medal handicap will be played next Saturday. MAUXGAKIEKIE CLUB. The Maungakiekie Golf Club held its official opening on Saturday, when ideal conditions prevailed. The president, Mr. O. J. Schliuuer, drove th' 3 first ball and dectared the links open for the season. Uver 120 players took part, members and menas being the guests of the president and Alls. Schnauer at afternoon tea. The Canadian foursomes match was won by Miss K Horton and G. Laird, with tlio excellent card of 5 up. Other good cards were' —Mrs. Johnston and B. Coutl.s, 3 up. Miss K. Churton and J. Earle, Mr. and Mrs. Calderwood, Miss McGowan and J. Sherlock. all 2 up; Mrs. Mcllraith arid J. H. Earle, 1 up: Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Elhfie. Misii Miller and C. Coleman, all eauare. F
