MILFORD TEAM SUCCESSFUL. The _ Auckland provincial surf life-savin? championship for four-man competition, decided during the week-end. was won by Milford No. 4 team. The fastest timei was made by J. Meikle, of Devonport, 1930 holder of the Canterbury belt championship. The winning team was? captained by S. Baconreel, whoso tenm-mates were B Hammond (hue). F. Wells (belt), O. Mills (patient). The belt man's time was 3m 19 '2-ss. Devonport scored 94 points, Mil- ™ • 1 92- ar >d Takiipuna No. 5, 901. ,T' e Pirato Shippe Plate was won by Milford A team with 71£ points, Takiipuna B being second with G8 and Takapuna A third with 65. The officials were:—Judge for water work, Mr. A. Dicker, assisted by Messrs. G. Cameron and T. Hilliker: land drill. Mr. A. Dicker; assistant, Mr. T. Hilliker; timekeepers, Messrs. L. Brighton and F. Langley; beach marshall, Mr. A. B. Coleman. A spectacular seven-main run-out. war. subsequently staged, Taknpuuft and Milford teams going off together. Takapuna proved better in the water, both beltman and support outpacing Milford.
