Wheat.—Cargoes opened firm yesterday owing to Winnipeg advices, but, demand was still in abeyance owing to the vagaries of sterling. Cargoes by tho K'.lloran and York City sold at 28s 3d and 27s 7{,d respectively. Parcels were in moderate demand. For Mariitobas and River Plates tho undertone was quieter. By a West Australian vessel, May, 27s IOAd. Futures.—London: June, 26s lJ,d ,1 quarter; September, 26s B,d. T.ivcipool: .March, ,5s 3 3-3 d a cental; May, 5s 5 5-8(1; July, 5s 8d; October, 5s lOjd. . CANTERBURY PRODUCE. LITTLE CHANGE IN POTATOES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —FEESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH. Saturday. The potato market shows little change. April-Juno delivery is quoted at £5 7s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., arid later months at ,£6 12s 6d. The on-truck price for earlier months is £4 7s 6d. Prompt fowl wheat ts quoted at As 4|d, f.0.b., and spread at 4s s^d. Oats are firmer, and up to 3s 6d a bushel, f.0.b., s.i., has been paid for " spread " A Cartons. Very few are offering, and apparently growers are leaving (hem in stack as they aro very scarce. Local Gartons aro quoted at 2s fld to 3s on trucks. Algerians are quoted at 3s on trucks. Blenheim chaff is being offered to Auckland at £5 a ton. As freight from t.ho former point is 5s a ton cheaper than from Lvttelton, the price in Christchurch has to be 5s a ton lower to compete. The Christchurch quotation to farmers is £3 15s to £4 a ton. The pea market moved up during the week on account of some forward sellers having to come on the market. This raised the price to 6s, f.0.b., s.i., which is above London parity. Prices on trucks have been 5s a bushel. Small seeds show no alteration.
