NEW CHURCH DEDICATED.

NORTHCOTE PRESBYTERIAN.

FIRST SERVICES IN BUILDING

Tire ceremony of dedication of the Presbyterian Church at Northcote, erected in brick at a cost of £1267, in place of the original wooden structure built in 1889, was performed by the Rev. G. Bucld, moderator of the presbytery, on Saturday afternoon, in the presence of a gathering of 300 people.

With the key presented by Mr. H. H. Broady, session clerk, the moderator unlocked the door, entering the building, accompanied by the minister, the Rev. F. A. Thompson, the Rev. S. L. Boot, of Helensville, and former minister at Northcote, the Rev. S. E, Hill, of Ellers'ie, Mr. W. N. Rushbrook, a pioneer of the church, members of the kirk session and other officers.

Mr. Boot congratulated both the minister and the people on the completion of the church. "It was n matter for gratification, not only'that the new church provided greater accommodation, but also that it was beautiful, giving expression to their belief that the God whom they worshipped was a god of beauty.

At a social in the evening in the adjoining hall addresses were given by local and visiting ministers.

The opening services were held yesterday and were largely attended, the Rev. F. A. Thompson officiating in the morning and the Rev. G. Budd in the evening, while in the afternoon a children's service was conducted by the Rev. J. A. Thomson, of St. Luke's, Remuera." A series of evening services will be held this week.
