ANGLING AT TAUPO.
WEATHER NOT FAVOURABLE. SUCCESSES AT SOME POINTS. | FROM Om. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAUPO. Saturday. The early part of the week was bad for fishing, as a strong easterly gale was blowing. Previous to that tho weather was good, and some very nice catches were taken of very good-conditioned fish. Several limits were caught from launches and by anglers fishing from tho rocks. The Tongariro is fishing very hard, but a heavy flood would alter the conditions. At present there are a great number of fish round the mouth, which is fishing well. The Delta i s fishing very well. Trolling parties arc meeting with success. The Tauranga-Taupo has been fishing fairly well, but it is not a great deal fished. Two anglers took 15 fish ono day at the outlet. Several other nice bags have been taken. Several anglers at Motutero and Jollicoe Points arc meeting with very fair success. The Waitahanui outlet is fishing well when weatlier permits. One angler took seven fish, which weighed 501b., in one evening, the heaviest fish being Two rods took 12 fish during tho day, including one 10lb. fish taken in tho liver. The river fishing is hard. Dry dy fishing has improved lately. Tho lluka stretch hns not been fished much since the fire of a few weeks apo. The launches have recorded some very good catches. Tho outlet has been fishing fairly well.
