DISPLAY OF PIGS.

HIGH STANDARD PRAISED. IMPROVEMENT IN QUALITY. ENTRIES SHOW INCREASE. There was a wonderful improvement in quality in all classes of pigs, which was ■She subject of much keen comment at the '.Auckland Show yesterday. The Tani■wortlis especially, in the opinion of the judge, constituted an exceptionally fine display. The number of entries also was greater than last year. In the export section some very fine bacon pigs were shown and (he quality of the porkers was considered first-class. GOOD POULTRY EXHIBITS.

GREAT IMPROVEMENT SHOWN. PIGEONS AND RABBITS. ' The exhibition of poultry was an exceedingly good one. Fawn and white Indian IRunner ducks were considered the best ever shown at the autumn fixture, the came being true of the Orpingtons. The "White Leghorn class was not a, big one, but of very good quality. Bantams were few, but good.. Judged all round, the poultry exhibit was held to be a great improvement on last year. Although the entry of pigeons was not Jarge. the birds were of a good type, and a variety of breeds was shown. ■' In general, the wool of the Angora rabbits exhibited was not up to usual length, as the periodical clipping had only recently taken place. The quality, however, was good. The cup for the best rabbit in the show was awarded to a doe entered by Mr. A. Sands, of Point Chevalier.
