INTERESTS OF AUSTRALIA. STATES' REPRESENTATION. LONDON. Feb. 5. Mr. Malcolm Mac Donald. Under-Secre-tn#v for the Dominions, in the House of Commons to-day replied to a suggestion |iy Sir Newton Moore (Conservative, Richmond, Surrey), that in view of the importance of tlio Empire Economic Con ferem-e at Ottawa, the Government should consider inviting representatives of the Australian States since land, mines, railways, and forests were State-controlled. Mr. MacDonakl said any alteration from the usual practice must be a matter for discussion between the Commonwealth and the States in the tirst instance.
