HEROIC FISHERWOMEN.
LAUNCHING LIFEBOAf. Fisherwomcn at Hauxley,,. Northumberland, played an heroic part in the sending of aid to . the .drifter Mary Mason, which was stranded on the Bouidcar Rocks a few weeks ago. With their menfolk at the oars the launching of the lifeboat devolved upon the women, who, wading deep in the icycold sea, started the lifeboat on her journey. Afterwards the women stood by throughout the night ready to give succour in case of need. The drifter, however, was refloated apparently undamaged next day and continued her voyage to Aberdeen. The lifeboat had put out immediately the distress signal was given, arid she stood by the drifter for seven and. a-half hours.
