AUSTRALIAN EXPORTS.
VALUE ABOVE IMPORTS. BUTTER AND WHEAT INCREASE. SYDNEY, Dec. 5. Figures for Australia's overseas trade for the first four months of the financial year showed a surplus of exports over imports of £7,181.000. The exports amounted to £27,909,000 in Australian currency, compared with £32,611,000 for Tho corresponding period of last year. Expiessed in sterling values the comparison is £21,382,000, against £30,591,000. Imports were valued at £14,200,000, against £27,301,000 for the corresponding period last year. Expressed in Australian currency, the decline was from £29,964,000 to £18,442,000. Exports of butter showed a rise of nearly £1,000,000 to £2,516,132. Wool, however, declined from £7,453 60SI to £6,497,399. Wheat rose from £2,467,694 to £3,137,653.
