COAL TRADE SLUMP.
MINE TO BE CLOSED. NOTICE TO 500 EMPLOYEES. SYDNEY, Sept. 18. Owing to slackness of the coal trade the Hepburn No. 2 Colliery, one of the largest on the South Maitland field, is to be closed on October 2. About 500 men have received notice of dismissal.
