TARIFF OPPOSED.
RESOLUTION BY LIBERALS. LOWER TAXATION URGED. LONDON. Sept. 17. The executive of the Liberal Council passed a resolution declaring that tariffs had signally failed to remedy the economic ills of other countries and would not solve Britain's difficulties. Therefore a reduction of taxation was essential to restore confidence and improve trade.
