ROUND SHOULDERS.

To have round shoulders is to bo distinctly at a disadvantage thiough life. People with round shoulders are certainly more liable to various infections of the ami, particularly as they grow older, to chronic bronchitis and winter coughs. Further, as age progresses and the spine tends to become less supple, roundshouldered people will find this attitude to be awkward and to prevent them getting about and doing what their upright friends find quite easy. The great disadvantage of _ round shoulders" occurs, however, in earlier life. One so often finds that round-shouldered people are timid and lacking in confidence and frequently suffer from an inferiority complex. If, however, children and young people are encouraged to walk about with their shoulders back and their head in the air they soon cease to feel themselves inferior to other people; also it gives them a feeling of well-being. It is very easy for children to develop round shoulders, and it is very easy to cure them of it. But as one grows older the cure becomes much more difficult. Therefore, see that your children walk well upright; it is better far they should have a bit .jf a swagger than be timid ami lacking in confidence. But do not cure round shoulders by continued scolding; you will fail. Rather cure by encouraging children to take a prido in their appearance.
