TASTY COD STEAKS.

Wash two cod steaks and drain them. Put them in a deep plate, with a few small dabs of butter on them. Cover with another plate or saucepan lid, and put them into a moderate oven to cook for about 20 minutes. Put an ounce of butter in a saucepan to melt. Stir in a dessertspoonful of flour and cook it a few seconds. Add milk, gradually stirring all the time until the. sauce is like thick cream. Put in a dash of salt and pepper and a saltspoonful of dry mustard. Lastly add some thinly sliced or grated cheese, about an ounce; one portion of the. small wrapped cheeses does very well. When melted pour over the cod steaks and serve at once.
