ARE SKIRTS DOOMED?
OUTDOOR PYJAMAS. LAW TAKING NOTICE. The heat has been so persistent in the United States this summer that pyjamas, wo arc told, gorgeously designed for outdoor wear, aro becoming very popular among girls. These modern pantaloons aro seen so often that the law is taking notice and each State is wondering just how properly it fits American notions of propriety. Mr. Clark, director of Public Safety in Detroit, has told his police:— " Theso pyjamas aro more modest than tho short skirts lately in voguo and so long as the wearer does not draw a crowd she must not be molested." It is, however, difficult for a girl to walk down tho street without attracting the attention of the curious. Out-of-doors pyjamas were first designed for tho beaches of Florida and California, but they are now worn by schoolgirls and office girls. Already the question is under discussion: " Aro skirts doomed ?"
