Tho following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:—A slight secondary depression has developed at the rear of the recent westerly disturbance. Barometric pressure is, however, relatively high over a wide area. Expect unsettled weather, with showers in most districts, particularly in western areas. Mainly fair to fine in east coast districts. Westerly to south-westerly winds, moderate to strong. Seas moderate. Local outlook: Unsettled, with occasional showers, although with intervals of fair to fine conditions intervening. Mild temperaturcsl Barometer/midnight, 1 - steady ... 29.701n. Midnight, Tuesday . . . 29.601n. Temperature in shade yesterday (to midnight)— Maximum, 62deg.j Minimum, 4Qdeg. GOVERNMENT REPORT. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows:—A shallow depression has been located off the west coast of the South Island. Tho slight anti-cyclone over the western Tasman Sea has remained practically stationary since yesterday, with its centre east of Tasmania. Indications are for moderate to strong southerly winds south of Greymouth and Akaroa, elsewhere variable at first, but southerlies soon again prevailing generally. Seas rather rough north of Capo Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate. Moderate southerly winds with modoratc seas in the eastern Tasman Sea. Tho weather will bo still changeable with scattered showers in most districts. , Cool temperatures.
