ROCKET PROPULSION.
APPLICATION TO VESSELS.
INVENTION BY A RUSSIAN.
LONDON, August 28,
Neither rudder nor propeller is required for propelling and steering boats fitted with an invention made by Captain Chernikeef,. a Russian.
The power is derived, according to Commander H. M. Daniel, the navat"critic of the Daily Mail, from what may be described as a submarine rocket, which drives the boat ahead by the ejection of gases from the stern, or, vice versa, astern by ejections from the bow. Deflection of the gases secures any required alteration of course.
Captain Chernikeef is confident, it in said, thai his invention will ultimately apply to any boat, from a dinghy to an ocean liner, and will make the beat faster and more economical than any other like craft afloat.
