MELBOURNE, Sept. 2.

Two men who leaped from a motor-car in full view of scores of shoppers smashed a jeweller's shop window at Carlton and escaped with two trays of diamonds, valued at £6OO.

The oulookers were afraid to intercept the robbers, fearing that they might be armed.
