REVENUE FOR PAST YEAR.
FINE CHAMPIONSHIP GREENS
The report of the council of tho New Zealand Golf Association, to bo presented at the annual meeting, in Chrislchurch on October 20, shows that the revenue last year was £'1338 03 lOd, compared with £12(11 17s for the preceding year. The ordinary expenditure was £929 15s Id, in addition to which £IOO was voted toward the fund for the relief of clubs which suffered in tho earthquake, and £lO 10s was voted to tho New Zealand Sports Protection League in recognition of their efforts on behalf of tho sports clubs. Tho council decided to invite clubs other than the earthquake area to contribute to a fund for the assistance of those which had suffered, and the subscriptions received ■totalled £l4O 4s Gd, which had been added, to the grant of £IOO made by the council. •
During the yfear 16 clubs joined the association, making the membership at the end of the financial year 189, as against 173, 159 and 148 in the preceding three years. The council has received a report from tho greens committee of the Christchurch Golf Club, which indicates that, given anything approachipg normal weather conditions,- the Shirley course Bhould be in firstclass order at the time of the championship meeting next month, and probably the best test of golf in the Dominion.
TITIRANGI LADIES' CLUB
CHAMPIONSHIP, ROUNDS. The qualifying round of the Titirangi Ladies' Golf Club's championships were played yesterday in conjunction with a jnectal handicap. Conditions were excellent and some interesting cards were returned. .--■ln the senior championship the best cards returned were:—Mrs. R. L. Wilson, 83: Mrs. T. W. Hosking, 87: Mrs. A. H. The final for thf K,ohn Cup resulted in a win for Miss Q. Gordon with a net. score of 97. Mrs. .T. W. Keith was second with a net score of 107.
