CAMP FOR MOTORISTS.
NEW WELLINGTON AREA.
reserve' at lyall bay.
Two acres of the Lyall Bay Reserve, contiguous to the Resolution Street entrance, and close to Onepu Road, have been selected as a new motor-camp site for Wellington in place of the camping ground at Ivarori Park. The new area has the approval of the Wellington Automobile Club authorities, and the Wellington City Council has asked the club to contribute to the cost of putting the ground in order It. is proposed to fenco the area and provide a proper gateway. Water and gas will' have to be laid on, and provision will also have to be made for the ground to be under some supervision. A chargo will be made for each car, and, should circumstances permit, the money advanced by.the club will be repaid out of the rt)?enue
The director of parks and reserves, Mr. J. G. MacKenzie, who selected the new site, has iti mind a bigger area at Lyall Bav between the golf links amd the Parade, should the motor-camping habit develop in Wellington and the ..new ground become too small.
