DIAMOND CONVICTED.

USE OF ILLICIT STILL. GANGSTER FOUND GUILTY. (Received August 9, 7.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, August S. Jack Diamond, the notorious gangster, has been finally convicted of felony after many contests with the law. He was found guilty to-day of violating the Prohibition Act by maintaining an illicit still. He faces a sentence of imprisonment for four years and a fine of £2200. Diamond was recently acquitted on a charge of torturing a farmer during his beer-running activities. The gangster will probably appeal from to-day's conviction.
