PASSENGERS RESCUED. VESSEL IN BAD POSITION. (Received August 9, 7.15 p.m.) RIO DE JANEIRO, August S. The Munson liner Western World grounded before dawu to-day on tho rocks off Ponta Doboi, north of Santos, 200 miles south of Bio de Janeiro. The crew of 166 men aro on board. The Hamburg-Amerika liner General Osorio took off the 87 passengers. The Western World wa3 bound south. The passengers arrived at Rio de Janeiro late to-night. The officers of tho General Osorio say tho Western World is in a dangerous position should a blow come up. They believe it will be difficult to refloat her in any case. The Western World is a vessel of 13,712 tons,, built in 1922 at tha_ Bethlehem Company's yards. She was lormcrly tho Nutmeg State.
