WEEK-END ACCIDENTS.
YOUTH SERIOUSLY HURT. TRAM CONDUCTOR'S INJURY, •A number of accidents occurred ip Auckland at the week-end. Severe head injuries were received by Owen Hooker, aged 18, of Kelmarnji Avenue, Heme Bay, o:n Saturday afternoqn. The youth was riding his bicycl# up College Hill when he was knocked down by a car. He was removed by the St. John ambulance to the Auckland Hospital. He had not regained consciousness last evening and his conditiop is serious. A tramway conductor, Mr. Frederic};; Bourdot, of 8, Norman's Hill Road, One* liunga, was struck by a motor-car outsidfl the Epsom tram barn shortly after midnight on Saturday as he was going of: duty. He suffered concussion and abrasions. After attention by Dr. W. N. Abbott, of Epsom, the injured man wa?s removed to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. His conditio? is not serious. A collision between two light motor'' cars occurred about 4.30 p.m. yesterday at the corner of Council Terrace anti Gladstone Road, Mount Albert. A cai driven by Mr. James Smith, of Auckland, was turning out of the terrace when il came into collision with a car driven bj Mr. Er. C. Clark, of Mount Roskill. to one was hurt. Mr. Smith's car bad tinright hand running board damaged.
