MAUNGATAPERE BALL.

The Maungatapere settlers* annual ball was held at Maungatapere on Thursday night, aud was a great success. The larg<* hall was attractively decorated with red and white streamers, and the snpper room with streamers of daffodil and violet. The same colour scheme was carried out on the tables. An excellent floor had been,prepared by the efforts of the committee. There was a large attendance of dancers, including a number of visitors from Whangarei. The control of the floor was in the charge of Messrs. D. Fraser and J. Morrison. Excellent music was provided by Wright's orchestra, and extras by,the Misses PepperelL
