ARBITRATION COURT.
LABOUR LEADER'S VIEWS. An appeal for action to secure tho abolition of the Arbitration Court was made by Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the Alliance of Labour, at a "rally" held in tho Strand Theatre last evening under tho auspices of the Auckland Industrial Labour Council. There was only u small attendance. Mr. Roberts appealed to his audience to support the abolition of tho Court, which, he asserted, inflicted hardships upon the working people, and to urge the establishment of an institution which would do something of material bene fit to those who contributed to tho wealth of the country. Tho Government had reduced tho standard of living by 11 £ por cent., said the speaker. He predicted that before the present session of Parliament was over tho standard would have been reduced by at least 15 por cent. In orderthat some action should bo taken to protect the interests of the working people, it was necessary that mass action should be taken, and this could only bo done by attracting younger men to tho cause of labour..
