OBITUARY.

MRS. BRIDGET FAIIHELL. Mrs. Bridget Farroll, whoso death, occurred at Matamata at tho age of 75, was born in Wanganui. She came to Auckland with lic-r parents when she was in her teens. For the last 37 years she was a resident of Matamata and since tho death of her husband, the kto Mr. John Farroll, in 1922, sho had lived in her own homo with her only daughter, Miss Ada Farroll, and two of her unmarried sons. She was greatly esteemed by the puoplo of Matamata and particularly by those who remember her devotion to the sick and needy in the days when doctors and nurses were not within easy reach and there were few provisions for the nursing of the sick. She was one of the oldest parishioners of the Church of the Holy Angels, Matamata. Mrs. Farrell was tho mother of eight sons and a daughter. Ono son died a few years ago in Matamata j the other seven all-served in the Great War, and although several were wounded they all returned to their homes after tho armistice. ' The eldest son also went through tho Boer War. Mrs. Farrell is also survived by a number of grandchildren and two brothers, Messrs. J. J, and J. O'Brien, both of Auckland, and a sister, Mrs. J. Webb, of Papatoetoo. MR. J. T. CROSBY. £ FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON. Sunday. Tho death occurred at Hamilton yesterday of Mr. John Thomas Crosby, aged 64 years. Deceased was ono of tho first white children born in Hamilton and had lived in tho district all his life. lie was a farmer and lived on a property on Tramway Road, Claudelauds. Ho is sur- | vived by his widow, five sons and two : daughters. MRS. W. J. COLLINS. [FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] MORRINSVILLB, Saturday. Tho death occurred at her residence, Tahuna, yesterday morning of Mrs. Sarah Rebecca Collins, wife of Sir. W. J. Collins, one Oif tho earliest settlers of the Tahuna district, in her 59th year. Mrs. Collins had been in ill-health for some time. Mr. ntul Mrs. Collins came to Tahuna about 25 years ago from the Col'om.'indel district and took up a block of unimproved land on tho Morrinsville side of What is now the township of Tahuna. There was then no formed road to Morrinsville, and until comparatively recent times there was only a clay road, Mrs. Collins was closely associated with all district activities, t especially the Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband and a family of nine children, all of whom resido at Tahuna. i
