CRITIC OF BRITAIN.
GOLD STANDARD IN INDIA. DEMAND FOR REVERSAL. (Received May 11, 8.15 p.m.) WASHINGTON. May 10. The chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Senate, Mr. W. E. Borah, in a broadcast speech to-day demanded a reversal of Britain's gold standard policy in India. Ho said it had drastically lowered the purchasing power of nearly 800,000.000 people in the East by depressing the price of silver.
