WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
Ngatea.—Arising out of a report of the recent Auckland Province Federated Women's Institutes conference, presented at a meeting of Ihe Ngatea Institute, (ho secretary was instructed to write to tho member for llauraki, when elected, urging 11iin to support a reduction in tho duty on wheal. It was reported that over .£2 worth of baskets niado by the inmates ol tho Jubilee Institute for the Blind had been sold. As it was a mission meeting," members brought gifts of clothing and it was decided that these be sent to Ihe Auckland City Mission. Tho proceeds from the sales table were 'also devoted to the same cause. 'I o Mrs. W. P Wylde and Mrs. N. Boyne, secretary and treasurer respectively of the •institute. • who arc leaving the district, the president, on behalf of tho members, presented each with a bronze vaso as a token of appreciation of their services. Mrs. N. A Olson was appointed secretary and Mrs C. S. Foster treasurer, in their places The hostesses were Mesdames P. Wilkins. T. Wheeler. M. Williams, \V. Wylde and J. Baxter.
