POLITICAL ACTION.
Sir, —Some members of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce appear 10 be verv desirous of making the body a political one. I recall that prior to the general election of 1928, the. chamber waxed very wroth concerning the non-reduction of taxation and intimated to the lie form Party that if taxation were not reduced action would be taken, irrespective of political consequences. Might I suggest that the sponsors of that action "are now suffering those political consequences and that in view of the sorry mess that has followed their, action they leave politics entirely alone They must not deceive themselves into believing that fusion is universally desired. I, for one would have nothing to do with the Reform Party if it had agreed to fusion. Reformer.
