LOCAL BODY ELECTIONS.

THE TRANSPORT BOARD. RESULT OF OFFICIAL COUNT. NO CHANGE IN PERSONNEL. The official count of (.ho voles cast in tho Transport Board election last Wednesday was completed yesterday with the exception of the votes by declaration, which have yet (o be checked. These are not very numerous and will not materially affect tho totals as arrived at yesterday. In no case have the successful candidates in the three constituencies of the board's district been displaced, although the count has altered the relative positions in some instances. In the No. 1 constituency the order of tho successful candidates remains unaltered, the revised figures for the six members elected being:—Mr. G. R. Hutchinson, 7651; Mr. J. A. C. Allum, 6503; Mr. T. Bloodworth, 5968; Mr. H. G. R. Mason, 5779; Mr. G. Grey Campbell, 5516; and Mr, F. N T . Bartram, 5181. Tho preliminary count on the evening of the election placed Mr. G. Baildon at the head of the unsuccessful candidates with 5137 votes, with Mr. E. J. Phelan next with 5116 votes. The official count has reversed these positions giving Mr. Phelan 4989 votes and Mr. Baildon 4892. The informal votes cast in this constituency totalled 4081. In the No. 2 constituency, which embraces the Mount Eden, Mount Albert and Newmarket boroughs the official count placed Mr. W. H. Naglo ahead of Mr. E. 11. Potter, with 4260 and 4140 votes respectively, as against 3584 and 3785 in the preliminary count. These two become members of the board, leaving three unsuccessful candidates.

In the No. 3 constituency Mr. E. Morton. with 2669 votes, maintained his lead over Mr. IL G. Clark, with 1775 votes. Both will take their seats on the board. Mr. Clark was 64 votes ahead of the first of the three unsuccessful candidates. Tho informal votes in tho No. 2 constituency totalled 353, and in the No. 3 area, 216.
