CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE.
CONFERENCE AT PUKEKOHE. BUSINESS FOR TO-MORROW. [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] PUKEKOHE, Monday. Delegates from the Waiuku, lon, Papakura, Pokeno and Pukekolie Chambers of Commerce are to be present at the half-yearly conference of the Franklin Combined Chambers of Commerce which is to be held at Pukekohe on Wednesday. Mr. C. Cooper, of Pukekohe. will preside. Fifteen remits, dealing with both local and national questions, are to bo considered. Three iemits are concerned with unemployment. The Pukekohe chamber recommends that all charitable aid and unemployment relief be a charge on the Consolidated Fund; ai|l that unemployed single men be placed in camps, on development work on Crown and native lands, and later be given the opportunity of settling on the lands they assisted to develop.
