AUCKLAND WINTER SHOW.
ATTITUDE OF POWER BOARD. CONCESSION TO TRADE FIRMS. A decision not to take space and conduct an exhibit at the Auckland Winter Show, which is to he held this year from July 8 to July 18, was reached yesterday by Ihe Auckland Electric-Power Board, which decided to provide free power to electrical firms making demonstrations. Tho general manager, Mr. R. 11. BaitIcy, said tho amount of money entailed in conducting the class of exhibit it would be necessary for the board to display would not produce business in proportion to the outlay. If the board were trading direct in electrical appliances the position would bo different. "I do think, however, that in the event of tho .trade combining to make an electrical exhibit and demonstration, the board might assist, as in previous years, by providing the necessary power for demonstration purposes free of cost," added the manager Alter the chairman, Mr. \V. J. Holdsworth. had moved that tho report should be adopted, Mr. 11. T. Goldic suggested that 1 lie offer of free power should be brought to the notice of electrical funis "Now that wo will have power to spare, we should do ali wo can to increase consumption," he said. The manager said no wiring would tie done. Each stall would be provided with a, meter, and it was rocommended that no charge should be made to exhibitors if their exhibit comprised 90 per cent, of electrical goodi.
