WAGES OF WORKERS.
REDUCTION APPLICATION. CASE FOR ARBITRATION COURT. HEARING COMMENCES TO-DAY. [BY TELEGRAPH. —I'RESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. Tho .Arbitration Court to-morrow will commence the hearing of the application lodged by the New Zealand Employers' Federation under the terms of the Finance Act, 1931, for the issue of a general order reducing wages paid under various awards of Iho Court. Tho case for tho employers is to be handled by tho secretary of the federation, Afi-. 'J 1 . 0. Bishop, who will open the proceedings with a statement setting out the reasons for the application. Messrs. J. McCombs, M.P., and W. T. Young, secretary of the Wellington Woollen Mills Employees' Union, and formerly secretary of the New Zealand Seamen's Federation, will state the case on behalf of the Trades Councils Federation. A representative of the Alliance (f Labour will also appear as well as advocates on behalf of particular unions.
