BUILDING AT PALMERSTON!.

THE QUESTION OF SAFETY,

[b:c telegraph—press association.] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday.

Following reports by the board's architect and structural engineers of the Public Works Department the Wanganui Education Board deemed it advisable to suggest that the Central School at Palmerston North, a large brick building, should be evacuated.

The Minister of Education, Hon. H. Atmore, after consultation with the Public Works Department, adopted, the suggestion and the school was evacuated today pending a decision regarding structural alterations.

Other accommodation is being found for the 600 pupils.
