BITTEN BY SHARK.
FISHERMAN'S EXPERIENCE.
A 19-year-old fisherman, named George •Albert Ewen, of Encounter Bay, South Australia, on going to inspect his nets early one morning recently, hauled in a net, in which -he discovered a 6ft. shark. He grasped the net to pull it into the boat, when the shark snapped at his hand. E»ven placed his two fingers in the eyes of the shark, which released its hold, and allowed him to •extricato his hand. Owing to weakness from loss of blood lie was • unable to manage the boat, which began to <drift. Another fisherman went to'his assistance, and took him ashoro. 'fhe second finger of his right hand was badly bitten.
