GREY LYNN TRAM ROUTE.

\ PROPOSED REMOVAL OF LINE.

PROTEST BY RATEPAYERS. A resolution protesting against the suggestion to remove the tramlines running from Ambury's Corner to Francis Street, on the Grey Lynn tram route, was carried at a meeting of ratepayers of tho district last evening. Mr. C. A. Watts was chairman.

The resolution stated"That this meeting of ratepayers, who are vitally interested in the action of the Transport Board in attempting to obtain legal power to uplift the tram tracks from Ambury's Corner to Francis Street, protests against such action, and considers tho board is acting /without studying the best interests of the ratepayers of tho district."

At a meeting of the Transport Board in February, the manager, Jlr. A.' E. Ford, recommended that as the district contiguous to the present' Grey Lynn terminus would be much better served upon the opening of the, Richmond line, the necessary authority should be sought to cancel tlie present Grey Lynn servico and rernovo the track. It was decided to defer decision for three months.
