ANNUAL REGATTA HELD.

The Taniaki Yacht Clufc. held its annual resrattji on Saturday afternoon under_ favourable weatler conditions. Good entries were received and some close finishes were reAll events started and finished off Koliimarajaa "Wharf. In addition to the sailing races a programme of side-shows was carried out in Mission Bay where the •cow Thistle acted as flagship.

Details uro as follows: The racd for classes H. L and N brought cut six competitors. Starloch went into the lead eirly in the race and finished well ahead of the other boats. The raco started at 2.30 p.m. The finishing times wero:-«Starloch (scr), 3h 55m fin; Celox (sm), 4h Om 80s; Doreen (8m), 4h 2m la; Awatere (Gin), 4h 2m 8s; Wairere (9m), 4h 5m ds; Mistletoe (15m), 4h 10m 4s.

The result on corrected times was:— Doreen. 1;, Mistletoe, 2; Starloch. 3. In the race for class V, Surprise had matters all her own way, leading the fleet round the course. The Northrote and Birkenhead regatta was concluded on Saturday afternoon, when the "side-shows" were held on tho waterfront of Hinemoa Park at Birkenhead. J hore was a largo attendance of spectators, ivho thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon's sport. / The Birkenhead Band played a musical programme, and the weather and »v»ter conditions T\*ero perfect. *•' The competitions resulted:— . RICHMOND CRUISING CLUB. RACE TO BE'ACH HAVEN. The Richmond Cruising Club held a race <o Beach Havon on Saturday for mullet bouts and 18ft and under classes. Both event 3 started from off the Ponsonby Wharf, the course being from starting line to the wharf at Beach Havon. The direction of the wind gavo the boats a run to the Bona bu.oy, a close haul to Kauri Point And then a run to the finishing line. Tlie mullet boata were sent away at 2.45 The finishing timeß were:—Matariki (liVi), 3h 41m; Mowai (scr), 3h 41m 2s; Awaliou (2m). !lh 45m; Kathleen (12m). 4h 6m ;ilis.
