EMPLOYEES' FEDERATION.
APPOINTMENT OF PRESIDENT.
POST FOR MR. A. C. MITCHELL

The appointment of Mr. A. C. Mitchell as president of the New Zealand Employers' Federation in succession to the late Hon. T. Shailer Wester, M.L.C., was made at a meeting of the advisory board of the federation to-day.
Mr. Mitchell is a director of the firm of J. J. Niven and Company, Limited. He will hold office until the next annual meeting of the federation, in October. For the past 20 years Mr. Mitchell lias taken an active part in the affairs of employers' organisations, having been several times president of the Ironmasters' Federation of New Zealand and for 15 years vice-president of the New Zealand Employers' Federation. His appointment was endorsed by every member of the advisory board, and requests that ho should accept tho position had been made to him by tho presidents of the Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury associations of employers.-
