YOUNG BOY DROWNED.
COX'S CREEK FATALITY. A verdict of accidental death was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., at the inquest held yesterday into, the death of Robert Allan Sutherland, aged nine years, who was drowned in Cox's Creek on Tuesday afternoon when he was bathing with a number of other children. The boy was a son of Mr. R. J. Sutherland, an employee of the Northern Steamship Company, and his home was at 79, West End Road, Grey Lynn. Deceased was swimming with a number of other children at the time. He was subject to fits, and was noticed by his companions to be in difficulties. They held him with a view to keeping his head above water, and a male swimmer took him ashore. Dr. V. F. Usher, <jf Ponsonby, was called, but the boy was then dead, resuscitation methods being unsuccessful.
