EAST BRISTOL VACANCY. SOLICITOR-GENERAL STANDING. British "Wireless. RUGBY, Deo. 31. The writ for the East Bristol by-election was issued to-day and polling is fixed for January 16. Sir Stafford Cripps, the Solicitor-General, is the Labour candidate and Mr. Edward Baker the Liberal candidate. It is not known whether a Conservative will contest the seat. The by-election is caused by the death of the Labour member, Mr. W. J. Baker.
