A mishap occurred to a Commercial Airways aeroplane fit Waipiro Bn;; this afternoon, as the reisutt of which the pilot, Mr. J. Buckeridge, was taken ti> tha Te Puia Hospital ivith a cut abovß one eye. His injury is not serious. Tho aeroplane was cor-s:iderab!y damaged. The machine, a Spartan biplane, left Gisborne about two o'clock for the coast, to undertake passenger flights. • Mr. Frank Petre, of Wellington, wa3 « passenger.

On arrival at Waipiro Bay the aeroplane was about to '.and on the beach when it stalled and struck an 'Empty house. Both occupants were thrown oufc, but Mr. Petre was; not injured.
