Royal Triumph, favourite in tho Tamaki Handicap, spoiled his chance by breaking. Tamahine was rot long in going to the front and stayed on to win comfortably from Kolmar, who again paced solidlv to record 4.35, 4s better than his handicap. Tamahine's improvement was remarkablo, for she went 6 2-5 a better than her handicap after being unplaced on. tho first and second days. Anseline secured her third third place of tho meeting'. Linnett the Great looked liko getting a placo at the turn, where she was interfered with when Royal Triumph broke and caysized her driver.

Red Shadow and Arethusa. repeated their Great Northern. Derby duel in the Park Handicap, Bed Shadow again winning in 3.19 4-5, whilo Ariithusa, who was conceding him 24yds, went 3.18 3-5. Both horses beat tho existing course record of 3.20 1-5 for a mile and a-half, and also bettered the New Zealand record for three-year-olds. Great Parrish paced a good race into third place and will bo all the better for the race. In spite oil his two provious defeats at the meeting Harold Logan was made a warm favourite for the President's Handicap, only to be beaten into fourth position. The pace was slow over tho first half-inile. when Free Advice led from Mountain Dell, and the field bunched up. Mountain Dell assumed command before going a lap and was first into the straight from Harold Logan, Carmel and Free Advice. In a great race to the post Free Advice and Carmel ran a dead-heat. Jewel Pointer being three lengths away third. Free Advice would probably have won outright only for being pocketed on the rails until entering the straight, where she made a fine effort;. Glenrossio Scores Again. Glenrossie waß backed down to oddson for the New Year Handicap and he justified tho confidence of his supporters by winning handsomely in the fast time of 4.30 3-5, which was 3 2-5s better than he was handicapped to do. Gold Dial, an outsider, paced a fine race into second place and Warplane also went well to finish third. Prcud Dillon, who lost a good deal of ground at the start, \yas fourth, and would have been in the money for certain if he had begun better. The Bowe Trotting Cup was a great betting race between Surprise Journey, Raima and the Kempton—-Writer bracket. Peter McKinney made most of the running from tTkulele Lady and Baima. Two furlongs from home Raima went to the front and went on to win by just over a length from Surprise Journey. Peter McKinney was two lengths away third and Ukulele Lady fourth. Baima gave a faultless exhibition of trotting and just ran his handicap time to win. Surprise Journey was a certainty beaten, as he lost about a hundred yards at tho start. Writer broke up early and was never dangerous. Maxegin and Kempton went well for most of the way but failed to stay on. Sir Author was over twice as well backed as Joy Bird in a good pool on the Premier Handicap, in which fancies took a wide range. Gang Awa' made play to the home turn from Joy Bird, who came through in the straight v,o win by a length from Queen Elizabeth. Nella Dillon was a length and a-half away ilhird, and Gang Awa' fourth. Sir Author was up fairly handy at the home turn but could not reach the i'eaders. Proud Dillon and Gold Dial broke up badly at the start. Favourites Fight It Out. The Telegraph Handicap provided an exciting finish between the favourites, Mignonne and Gold Treasure, and Gold Treasure secured the verdict by a nose. The Tartar was the leader over the first mile, but with a lap to go Peter Pirate and Mignonne were the leaders from Gold Treasure. When the straight was reached (Sold Treasure challenged and, although he almost went to a break, just got up to win. Master Huia was three-parts of a length away third and Glandore fourth. Mignonne wasi a trifle clow away and jusf. lost enough at the start to cost her the race. Enawah was installed favourite for tho Onslow Handicap and she acted right up to expectations by winning brilliantly in 2.10 4-5. Belle Axworthy, Tru=twcthy and Warplane carried the field along early, with Enawah up handy. Nearing tho homo turn Enawah ran to the front and was never afterwards troubled, to win by two and ahalf lengths from Jewel Pointer, who got through on the rails in the straight. Mountain Dell was half a length away third and Warplane right up fourth. Jewel Pointer registered the fast time of 2.7 4-5. TROTTING PRIZE-MONEY. SOUTHERNERS DCI WELL. C. S. DONALD'S SUCCESSES.
