MISSION BAY.
Sir,—r have watched the correspondence on this carefully, and I notice all I lie replies to (lie original letter on this subject are by "Residents," and it, would appear that although they have Mission Bay every day in tlio week they want it so much on Sundays that no one else should he allowed to go there. T have had (lie pleasure of going through the Mission Bay district, a good many times 011 a Sunday, and T notice many residents very busy about their houses, most, of which arc quite nice and new, and naturally a lot to be done, so why should they worry about who goes to the beach, and I don't think they really want to play 011 the reserve, so why is the motorist asked to go to some other beach ? As regards "dressing sheds," (he cars were the only decent and convenient places to ahango for bathing. The unsightly, unclean, corrugated iron "bathing sheds" aro not, fit (o enter, and could only accommodate a very few of the thousand or so. Anyway, I would point out that the reserve does not belong to the "Residents." Itbelongs to the general public, and I cannot see that any ono party should contrive to shut any other out. As the reserve is vested in the Auckland City Council, it is only reasonable that all patrons of the beach should bo catered for to best advantage, and I would suggest first that all the grass be kept well cutno chance of spoiled stockings then; second, that a strip full length of the beach, where the cars have previously been parked behind the wheel tracks parallel with the beach, be cleared of grass and that sand be spread, sufficient to, say, park two lined of cars. This would give a set place for the motorists, who would lie only too willing to abide by regulations. 11. F. Davis.
