PRESENTATION.

Mr. G. F. Francis, who has recently been granted six months' leave prior to retirement from the position of district manager of the Australian Mutual Provident Society, was farewelled by the staff at a function in the society's office yesterday, when he was presented with a cabinet gramophone by the staff. The presentation was made by Mr. A. E. Carrington, the acting-niairiger, who stated that Mr. Francis had completed nearly 51 years' scrvico with the society, during 45 of which ho had been manager in different centres.
