EARL BEAUCHAMP.
RETURN FROM AUSTRALIA.
Earl Beauchamp, Leader of the Liberal Party in the House of Lords, arrived by the Niagara from Sydney yesterday. He has spent a holiday in New South Wales, of which Stato he was Governor from 1899 to 1901, and is now returning to England, via America.
Lord Beauchamp said lie had spent two very happy months in Australia. He had been greatly impressed with the progress and improvements that had taken place in Sydney sinco ho was there many years ago. It was unfortunate that his visit should have been made during a time of depression, but ho hoped that under-con-sumption by other nations was the cause of bad times, rather than over production, and that as prosperity came to these nations Australia would also benefit.
