THE LYONS DISASTER
TWO MORE VICTIMS DEAD. BUILDINGS ENDANGERED. (Received November 17, 12.15 a.m.) PARIS. Nov. 16. Seven bodies, including that of a baby, havp been recovered at Lyons, and six injured- persons rescued. A woman and a lVaby havo died in hospital. Tho tottering buildings which threatmod tho safety of 300 workers havo been dynamited, but a wing of tho Chazeaux Hospital, the walls of which are badly cracked, is still balanced precariously cn tlio edge of a chasm. Ay torrent of water, which was pouring tint from a gash in tho hillside doubled tho difficulties of removing tho debris until a temporary pipeline diverted tho flow. Enormous works must be constructed to uphold the remainder of the hilltop, which is crowned with historic edifices. The total death roll as a result of tho landslide is 37. . Thrco thousand soldiers and firemen are clearing tho debris, an operation which is expected to take a fortnight.
