THE SENIOR COMPETITION. SECOND SERIES OF GAMES. GOOD START BY GREEN LANE. Tlio .Auckland Cilv and Suburban Cricket Association was compelled to jibstpone the second series of mutches in its senior competition on Saturday ■when heavy rain made the wickets at the Domain unplayable. Play was not commenced until three o'clock and an hour's further rain caused stumps to bo drawn for the. day. A good deal of interest was taken in the match between Green Lane and Albion, two of tho strongest teams in the competition. Green Lane made a good start, scoring 70 runs for the loss of two wickets. It. Lonergan 32 not out, batted well. Against Harbour Hoard, Ponsonby lost three wickets for 67. Invieta had tho use of a fairly good wicket and scored 92 for the loss of nine wickets against Ellerslic. LONEItGAN'S USEFUL INNINGS. GREEN LANE V. ALBION. Tlio toas favoured Green Lane against Albion and Lonergan and Elliott opened cautiously. Tlio latter was smartly caught by U. Stallwortby. Dykes plnyed a useful innings for It.
