UNDER TWO POUNDS. TEN INCHES IN LENGTH. A baby boy weighing oidy lib. 150z5., and only lOins. long was born at the Twickenham Nursing Home, Middlesex, a few weeks ago. '1 hat night it was reported to bo " crying lustily and going on splendidly.'

A normal baby boy weighs about Blbs. and measures between 19in. and 20in- The tiny baby was being fed every half hour with one drop of brandy diluted with water through a pipette —similar to a fountain-pen filler. Mr. and Mrs. Cudmore, of St. Margaret's, Twickenham, the parents are aged 21 and 22 respectively. Mrs. Margaret Ellis, the matron of the nursing home, said: " Ibis is easily the smallest living baby I have ever seen. He is being brought up on a new system that dispenses with the old-fashioned incubator. Ho was wrapped in a special kind of cotton wool and then placed in a cot the temperature of which is kept constant at 86 degrees by means of hotwater bottles. When he was born his head was little bigger than a tennis ball, and I could easily hold him in the palm of one hand." Miss Jean Whiteman. of Llstead, near "lodalming, Surrey, who is now nearly two years old, was the world s smallest baby. Sho weighed only 14ozs. at birth, and when three weeks old a wedding ring passed easily over her hands.
