COX'S CREEK.
Sir, —Xo doubt it is high time the council made a move to have this unsightly area at C'ox's Creek drained and filled in, In the slimmer the smell which comes fron; the creek when the tide is running oul is nauseating and must be extremely nn healthy. For years the council has beer talking about improving Cox's Creek, but this is as far as it gets. It seems to mc that tho only way to get the council tc move is for the residents of the district to keep agitating until this unsightly and unhealthy spot is filled in and made intc a playing area. Year after year mone\ is voted for other districts, but wo residents of Westmere are told that finance; are tight and we will have to wait until more important works in other districts are completed. Two years ago a number of us endeavoured to get tho council to fill in a very small corner of the inside of the creek for tennis courts. So far about a third of this small area has been tilled in and left in a half-finished condition. 'i he whole area would make a splendid playing ground and would be of immense benefit to a rapidly grov.inc district. Westender.
