AUCKLAND BOOKLET.
OVERSEAS APPRECIATION. VALUABLE ADVERTISEMENT. Copies of many letters of appreciation of the excellence of the booklet " Auckland, the Gateway to New Zealand " have been received by tho Auckland Advertising Club and the New Zealand Heralti from local firms whose reccfnt mails from overseas have contained numerous messages of approval. Writing to an Auckland firm which for. warded a copy of the publication, Mr. S. A. Loeb, president of the Webster Electric Company, Racine, Wisconsin, stated: "I was amazed to know what a large and beautiful city Auckland is. I sincerely hope that one of these days I shall bo able to start travelling about the world and obtain a better idea of the places that I hear about but know nothing of; I have shown the book to others and they too were amazed." Mr. W. B. Gray, of San Francisco* writing on behalf of the Standard Gypsum Company, to acknowledge receipt of i* copy of tho edition which he had received in the last mail, said it was indeed a very creditable publication. Auckland had grown immensely and its beautiful harbour parks and various seaside resorts must make it a beautiful city in whicli to live. The Chamber of Commerce and the Advertising Club were to be congratulated on tho creditable manner in which they had advertised their city. Another letter from a Canadian firm' stated that they had no idea that Auckland was as large or as beautiiul as the booklet illustrated. The persons responsible for its publication should be congratulated for it had aroused in Uirt' writers * desire to visit such a beautiful country and it was hoped that that desire would be realised in tho near futuro.
